Everyone remembers the paper fortune tellers from their own school days, right? That folded paper shape which you flipped open to find the secrets underneath?
Well I thought I’d create one especially for younger students when they are struggling with devising a drama.
The idea is that students can use the fortune teller to decide on a character, a place and a situation. That gives the students a starter – and it’s up to them to create the rest of the story. All they need do is print the fortune teller, get folding, and then get exploring!
Of course in a locked down world, rehearsing with friends may not happen face to face, but it could be used for students to start planning and writing scenes – and maybe when we can all be in a room together again, these ideas might just be brought to life.
